Sample Language for the Request

I am transgender student, and a [YOUR CLASS STANDING, e.g. incoming first-year student, sophomore, etc.]. I would like to change my email address. I would like to change my email address to reflect my chosen/preferred name, “[YOUR CHOSEN NAME]”. An example email address that would work for me is “[GIVE AN EXAMPLE EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR CHOSEN NAME]”.  I would also like for my current Vanderbilt email address ([YOUR CURRENT VANDERBILT EMAIL ADDRESS]) to be deleted from my account, to prevent any communications that use my non-preferred name (deadname me).

For Requesting to Delete the Email with Your Deadname when you already have an Email with your Chosen Name.

However, I still have been receiving emails at my old deadname (an old non-preferred name) email. As such, I would like for my old Vanderbilt email address with my deadname ([YOUR CURRENT VANDERBILT EMAIL ADDRESS]) to be deleted from my account, to prevent any communications that use my non-preferred name (deadname me).

For Requesting new Email & VUNetID with Chosen Name and Deleting the Email with Your Deadname

I am transgender student, and a [YOUR CLASS STANDING, e.g. incoming first-year student, sophomore, etc.]. I would like to change my email address and VUNetID. I would like to change my email address to reflect my chosen/preferred name, “[YOUR CHOSEN NAME]”. An example email address that would work for me is “[GIVE AN EXAMPLE EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR CHOSEN NAME]”. I would also like to change my VUNetID as it contain my non-preferred/dead first name’s initials, which is not consistent with my chosen/preferred first name. I would not like my first name initial to be present in the VUNetID. An example VUNetID for me is “[GIVE AN EXAMPLE VUNETID EITHER BASED COMPLETELY ON YOUR LAST NAME OR WITH INITIALS OF YOUR CHOSEN NAME, MAKE SURE IT IS LESS THAN 8 LETTERS LONG]”. I would also like for my current Vanderbilt email address ([YOUR CURRENT VANDERBILT EMAIL ADDRESS]) and VUnetID ([YOUR CURRENT VUNETID]) to be deleted from my account, to prevent any communications that use my non-preferred name (deadname me).
